Our innovative engine test stand provides a simple, self-contained and convenient method of rigging and preparing aircraft gas turbine engines for dynamometer testing. The stand can be supplied in various sizes to suit the application and can integrate a variety of components, dynamometers, turntables, engine inertia flywheels, gearboxes, torque-meters, engine cradles, mounting systems and interconnecting drive shafts.

Dynamometer Test Systems for Aerospace

Froude has a unique range of dynamometers covering applications from high-powered industrial gas turbines, direct and indirect drive turbo shaft engines, turboprop engines and A.P.U.s. We are able to supply hydraulic (water brake), eddy current and AC dynamometers for a wide range of gas turbine engine testing applications.
The Froude HS Range of hydraulic dynamometers have been specifically designed for gas turbine testing, and are compact, robust and low maintenance. The HS125, HS150 and HS2600 have a one-piece rotor shaft manufactured from a unique stainless steel forging. 

Designed for turboshaft and turboprop engine applications, each featuring interchangeable engine adaptor frames allowing several engine types to be tested on a single test stand. Well-proven standard products are available for the majority of turboshaft and turboprop engines. 

Froude dynamometers are high-performance machines and well known for their consistent high level control throughout the speed range. This is achieved through the innovative engineering behind our water outlet valve, rotor and stator design. We offer a system that is of high quality, easy to use and competitively priced. F Type hydraulic dynamometers are designed for high accuracy of control, torque measurement and rapid load changes (response). Our range includes low speed, high torque variants for turboprop testing and higher speed, lower torque variants for turboshaft testing in uni- and bi-directional configurations. 
As known throughout the industry, the VX100 PRO continues the tradition of extremely accurate load control. The system is user friendly with drag and drop functionality and enhanced screen views. 

The Texcel VX100 PRO has been specifically designed for turbine test applications using distributed I/O concepts eliminating the need for high-density wiring between the dynamometer and the control console. The system incorporates four control modes, special control profiles, health monitoring and failsafe control in critical conditions.
